About the Keynote Panel

Featuring international leading experts on global happiness and wellbeing, this keynote will unpack:

  • Key findings and trends in happiness around the world.
  • Factors shaping well-being worldwide.
  • The powerful role of social connections and meaningful relationships.
  • Practical interventions—both policy-driven and personal—that are key to elevating happiness.

Bringing together an editor of the World Happiness Report and Research Fellow at the Universisty of Oxford's Wellbeing Research Center, this important discussion won't just cover the latest global and regional trends in global happiness, but will help us learn ways global citizens can transform well-being together.

The Panelists

Lara B. Aknin – Distinguished Professor of Social Psychology, Director of the Helping and Happiness Lab at Simon Fraser University, and Editor of the World Happiness Report

The Helping and Happiness Lab, Dr. Laura Aknin, studies what makes people happy, the emotional consequences of kind or generous behavior, and the well-being outcomes of specific spending choices.

Alberto Prati – Assistant Professor of Economics at University College London and Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Centre.

Alberto is working on solving some fundamental issues in the measurement of life satisfaction, with the aim of outlining some practical advice to help producers and users of wellbeing data. Apart from his focus on wellbeing, he has been working on several measurement puzzles, e.g., how to measure unobservable inequalities, and how to estimate time preferences accurately.
